Winona Area
Tour
Depart
beautiful downtown Lanesboro to explore one of our neighboring towns on the
Mighty Mississippi. You will travel roads less traveled and visit a few
small towns along the way. The first stop will be in St. Charles’ Amish
Square and visit the Fremont Store. Along the way you will travel past
Sugar Loaf Mountain and Garvin Heights. View the loading of barges on the
mighty Mississippi, stroll on the earthen Dam #6a, and hear the history of
its name. View the bluff where a Northwest Airplane crashed in 1948 and
hear the story that surrounds this event.
While in
Winona, the tour would include the Watkins Factory, the Safari African Bank,
the Polish Museum, and the Stained Glass Church.
